Hi, I’m Alex — the guy behind the lens (and occasionally behind a drone, or flat on the floor to get that shot). I started How Lucky because I believe love deserves to look cinematic — not just staged or pretty, but full of feeling, movement, and meaning.

Originally from the Highlands of Scotland (Inverness, if you know it!), I’ve spent the past decade chasing stories and good light across the U.S. I lived in LA for over four years, where I cut my teeth on some of the biggest sets in the game — from Super Bowl commercials to Adele music videos. Along the way, I worked on creative campaigns for global brands like Sony, DJI, Adidas, and more.

But as much as I loved the big sets and bright lights, I realized my favorite moments were the raw, real ones — the kind you find at weddings. That’s where How Lucky was born. A place where I could bring all the cinematic expertise, without the Hollywood ego.

I’m not into stiff poses or ticking off a shot list. I’m here for the stolen glances, the teary dads, the tipsy dance moves, and the epic champagne sprays. Whether you’re eloping in the Catskills or throwing a black-tie bash in Italy, I’ll bring the big-production energy — without the big-production price tag.
